I recommend reading the text summaries first to get the back story, and then watching the video to see the action. That way, you'll understand more of what you're seeing, and not be lost.
Of course, it would be best to watch the first 7 movies in their entirety, but if you can't do that, this is the next best thing. The books/movies build on each other quite a bit, as they are essentially one gigantic story broken into 7 installments, and there are a ton of loose ends that will get "tied up" in this final film.

The movies do tie together
Philosophers stone-- the dursleys are given Harry and they treat him like a slave and make him sleep in a cuPboard under the stares and when he starts receiving letters from hogwarts they will do anything to stop him from easing and finding out what he is. They even tell him his parents died from a car crash not the true story ( murdered by voldemort) they go to some place in the middle of nowhere to avoid the letters but Hagrid (half giant) finds them and takes Harry to gringotts bank guarded by goblins to get harrys money and Hagrid also picks up secret dumbledore business from another bank vault. When they leave they go to diagon alley to buy harrys school supplies and hedwig the owl he gets a wand which is voldemort twin because they both have a phoenix feather from the Phoenix
He gets all his spellbooks and stuff like that and then Hagrid gives Harry his train ticket which says platform 9 3/4 but harrydoesnt understand so when he gets to the train station he meats Ron weasley and his family and to get in the just run through the wall on the train Ron discovers he's Harry potter and wants to see his scar ( he got it when voldemort tried to kill him but he didn't die because of his parents sacrifice) then hermione comes in there cart and watches rons attempt at magic which failed so she goes all show off and fixes harrys glasses. When the arrive at hogwarts it's basically a whole bunch of classes and clues they find heading towards the end of the movie and they discover that the bank vault Hagrid took the thing out of had been broken into. Then a troll had been released into the castle and it was after Ron had said something hurtful to hermione so hermione was crying in the bathroom where the troll had gone. Ron and Harry comet the rescue and knocked the troll out and this is where they become a group of friends (just so you know Harry is the seeker on the quitich team) at Christmas Harry gets an invisibility clock that used to be his fathers and he goes out and finds a mirro that shows his truest desire (his parents) then dumbledore moves it and tells him not to go looking for it. All the clues that they had found led them to the discovery that proffesor snape was trying to steal the philosophers stone ( a stone giving you immortality) and they went to go stop him because nobody would believe he was trying to steal it they went down and there was a series of traps and thing to get through like devils snare a broomstick to find a key to unlock the next door a giant game of wizards chess ( the same but the pieces all destroy whichever they checkmate) and in the last room was the mirror and not snape but proffessor quirrel Harry looks into the mirror and sees the stone in his pocket so he feels and it is there and professor quirrel explains how it had been him all along andthat he set the troll loose and then voldemort talks to quirrel and tells him to go after Harry and quirrel takes his turban off on on the other side of his head was voldemort and he goes after Harry but when he touches him he starts to burn so Harry uses that against him and touches his face and quirrel/voldemort burns to ashes
The chamber of secrets- Harry got a bigger bedroom don't know why but the duds eye were having guests over and keep Harry in his room to pretend he doesnt exist and dobby is in there ( a house elf but he won't be there in the last movie) and tells Harry potter not to go back to hogwarts because danger awaited him an he gets Harry in trouble by dropping a cake on the guests head and disappearing . Later they bar up his window and Ron comes to rescue him in a flying car that he borrowed from his dad and they go to tons house and blah blah blah blah blah they go to diagon alley and malfoy and his dad (malfoy is the bully) are there Ginny comes to hogwarts this year (rons sister) And when they try to run through the wall it's blocked (dobby closed the gates to stop Harry from getting to hogwarts) so Ron and Harry take the flying car (bad idea) and get in a lot of trouble dobby also sabotaged a bludger (part of quittich ) to go aFter Harry so he would leave hogwarts. Harry finds out he can talk to snakes hears voices in the wall and then he finds a note saying the chamber has been reopened and filches( janitor) cat hanging paralyzed and then everyone else comes and sees it Harry finds a book with nothing in it so he writes and Tom riddle writes back and shows him about the chamber of secrets and that Hagrid opened it and he was expelled ( the chamber of secrets was made by Salazar slitherin when hogwarts was open and it was intended for the death of mud bloods ( muffle borns or people horns from non magical people) and a monster was supposed to kill them and the heir of slithering would open it) Harry comes back to his room and the book was gone and he finds it in moaning mertles bathroom and I forgot to mention they made a polyjuice potion That would turn them
