I was re watching Harry potter and the deathly hallows part 1 and noticed that the deathly hallows sign was on james potters grave and I know that Harry got left the cloak by his father so does that mean James potter was one of the three brothersIs James potter part of the three brothers ?
James was a descendant of Ignotus Peverell (brother with the cloak), but he was never one of the brothers. Harry is also a descendant of the Peverells through his father.
Actually the sign of the Deathly Hallows was on one of the Peverell brothers grave! Hermione finds the grave while Harry is looking for his parents grave.
James was not one of the three brothers from the story, but he was a decedent of the youngest brother which makes Harry the rightful owner of the cloak which was passed down by James, had he been alive!
Also Voldemort was the rightful owner of the resurrection stone (which I think fits very aptly with his obsession with immortality)! In HBP Gaunt flashes the ring with the Peverell Coat of Arms saying that the ring was passed down from decedents of the Peverell brothers! Which makes Voldemort, Harry's Great uncle! :) and which means that Voldemort is James' uncle! .... freaky, eh! :)Is James potter part of the three brothers ?
No James Potter was not one of the original three brothers to receive the gifts from death. He was very distantly related to the brother, Ignotus, who received the cloak from death. Unlike his brothers he did not flaunt his gift and was able to keep it in the family for generations. As you saw when you were watching the movie, Ignotus was able to hide from death and then when he was finally ready he gave the cloak to his son and left with death as an equal. So James potter is a great great great ect. grandson of Ignotus and thus received the cloak. Then after his death left it to his son, Harry Pottter, The Boy Who Lived :D Hope this helped
No, he was the descendant of one of the three brothers. While the wand was won by a wizard, the stone and the cloak were inherited by the children of the wizard. Harry is a descendant of Ignotus Peverell the youngest brother. Tom Riddle was a descendant of Cadmus Peverell ,the middle brother and holder of the Resurrection Stone. Antioch Peverell had his throat slit while he slept and the elder wand went from the elder brother to the person who killed him and so on and so forth until it went to Dumbledore who surrendered it to Draco perhaps thinking he would never figure it out. Voldemort never figured it out and neither did Severus. If Severus had been the master of the wand there is question as to whether it would serve Voldemort any how as Nagini killed Snape and not Voldemort. Logically the wand belonged to Voldemort because he killed the Gregoravitch while all Grindalwald did was stun an unarmed man. The Elder wand was never taken away by a curse or spell from Gregoravitch's hand. It is a small mistake but a mistake all the same. One has to think if the order of ownership had been maintained Dumbledore would have been able to defeat Voldemort in wand to wand combat. Why? A horcrux does not stop one from killing himself with a rebounded curse. Another Horcrux might result or not but Voldemort would disappear again. So much for the prophecy. Even more curious is the thought that at one point Dumbledore had access to all three Hallows and yet he could not cure his cursed hand. So really is there a master of death ? Think not.Is James potter part of the three brothers ?
No, he wasn't. He was a descendent of Ignotus and the cloak was passed down through generations. The first two brothers died and Ignotus eventually gave himself up, so James couldn't have been one of the three brothers.
I don't remember seeing that? It WAS on Ignotus Peverell's grave.
The Potters are descendants of the Peverells, specifically Ignotus, the youngest brother and original owner of the true Cloak of Invisibility. So, no, James Potter was not one of the three brothers. He was an only child.
No
yes, he is the brother who receives the cloake of invisibility from death. he then leaves it to Harry as a Christmas gift in the first movie!
