Can Harry potter and the deathly hallows beat Twilight on Opening day??

ok so last Year Twilight: New Moon beat Harrry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Opening midnight record.

so just yesterday Warner Bros. announced that they wont be able to release harry potter in 3D so they are just releasing part 1 in 2D only.



so my question is will harry potter and the deathly hallows part 1 have enough momentum to shatter twilight's record without any 3D sales????? not by just midnight opening sales but i mean after that weekend when it come's out?????

i hope so! twilight doesnt deserve to be the top grossing film of all time!!!!! it's a horrible book series and the movies are boring and pathetic!

the only reason people watch it is because of that edward guy and that jacob guy.

Harry Potter will make more money because it's coming to an end. There are soo many loyal fans out there (myself included) that hate to see it end, but can't help ourselves and have to see the movies right when they come out (if I don't make it to the midnight showing of HP pt.1, then I'm definitely going to see it later that day, at latest on Saturday).

And no, people watch Twilight because A) it's the only series when Taylor Lautner will willing lose his shirt, and B) because they're idiots who don't understand the concept of good writing and a decent story line.

Oh, and a couple of you noticed that Twilight was copying HP in the split movie thing. It's because Summit and Warner Bros. seem to have an unofficial competition on which best-selling series turned movies can have the most directors. HP wins that one. :P
Even if the new Twilight does beat Deathly Hallows in terms of midnight sales, it can only dream of what Harry Potter will make altogether during its cinematic run. I do hope that the last two Harry Potter movies put Twilight to shame. I still can't stand the fact that the latest Twilight film is going to be split into two films. For me it's always going to be Harry Potter. I love the books and the movies aren't half bad. Twilight to me is just over-rated.

Twilight didn't rely on 3-D and its weird effect/ I'd say no!
The only reason Twilight beat Harry Potter on opening day was because there are so many preteen girls out there that like to go to the midnight showings. Harry Potter appeals to all ages. Yes, including young kids and adults. Young children aren't very good at staying up too late, especially midnight, and adults have a hard time staying up, too. That's the only reason.



Oh, but Harry Potter earns hundreds of millions of dollars more than Twilight anyway, so the opening day sales hardly even matter. Harry Potter kicks a**!!!!!!!!!



EDIT: I agree with the previous answer. Twilight SO copied Harry Potter for the whole "splitting the last movie into two parts". I can't believe Breaking Dawn will be in two parts! What idiot would pay to see that?! (no offense, just my opinion)
not way!!!!!!!!!!! go twilight! and people dont just watch it for Edward and Jacob!!!!!!!! Its a great movie! And a great story and there never will be any better movie! And you think the books are bad??? You probably haven't even read any of them!!! They are the best books ever its impossible for any book to be better! i have read all of them multiple times! twilight does to deserve to be the top film and it always will be!!!!!!! and oviously i love twilight way more!!!!!!!!!! like a gazillion times more then harry potter and i have also read the Harry Potter books and seen all the movies alot of times so i can say twilight books and movies are so much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
