I need people who have read and seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 to answer my question? Please?

Ok I've asked this question to the movie category, but want to here from people who have actually read the books. Here is my thoughts on the movie:

Ok now I know most of you all will probably hate me for saying, but I didn't like Part 1 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I thought splitting the one movie into two was pointless. I really liked the very beginning, but when it got to the part where they were traveling and the scenes seemed to drag on and the lack of dialogue. I started to get sleepy and actually had to make myself stay awake to finish watching it. By the time it ended and I learned they spent the whole movie to show Voldemort taking the wand from Dumbledore's grave, needless to say. I got pissed.

Ok so my friend thinks the split in one movie was justified for reasons he hasn't told me yet.

I was wondering if you felt the same way, or if you liked the movie I'm glad. I don't want anyone to think I'm bashing the movie, I've been a fan of harry potter since I was little and have grown up with the movie series. No I haven't read the books, but don't think I have to just to know that the split was waste of time and just to milk the series for all its worth. This is my big problem with it. I hate when people take a good story and try to milk it for all its worth, because unless you truely love the story your filming niether will your audience.

Additional Details:

I agree, I am excited for Part 2 because I know it will be a lot of action, but just am disappointed because everytime I've watched a Harry Potter movie and go on the adventure with the characters I get surprised at the end and am like WOW that was sooo good. But in this one I feel like the adventure itself wasn't very exciting as it use to be with Harry, Hermione, and Ron going around the school getting into things and solving riddles. This one felt more like "ok this is what's gonna happen, and the next movie is coming soon."I need people who have read and seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 to answer my question? Please?
The director's have said that the reason why they split it into two parts was because there was just so much detail and information in the books (which i have read and i do agree with) that they wanted to add in but they couldn't so they split it into 2 parts. (Even splitting it in two parts, they've still had to cut out a lot of details and stuff).

If they didn't do a part 1 and 2, i believe the film would've been a lot worse than what you think part 1 was. But because it has been split into two parts you get to see more, and part 2 because it's the part towards the end of the book it will have all the best parts in it. Whereas part 1 is supposed to include all the information to understand part 2 more. I think part 1 did really well and i thought it was great, but we all have our own opinions.
I actually agree with you it was very good in the beginning and i even cried a little when Hedwig died (wish Harry did he only like spent his whole wizard in training life with her) but when the 3 began to jump from place to place, and it seemed like no one was chasing them i wanted to just fast forward the whole film. But i did like the animated part of the 3 brothers. I give your argument a thumbs up, also year 2 was my favorite plenty of spooky action . . . let me rip you . . . let me tear you . . . kill, Kill, KILL! . . . time to kill ...... ohh gave myself a little spook there lol!I need people who have read and seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 to answer my question? Please?
There is no way that they could make Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows into ONE movie.

There is WAY too much stuff that happens, and way too much information given in the book to expect people to sit in the theater to watch it all, it would be soooo long.

The first part of Deathly Hallows (the movie) is really like 2/3 of the book, the last third of the book is what will be covered in the final movie so there's lots to fit in. I get how someone who hasn't read the books would dislike the way some of the movies have come acros but that's b/c you're missing a lot of the information. They leave a lot of stuff out in the movies so when you watch it (and you don't know all the stuff that's in the blanks) it can come off as boring.

My advice is just to read the book. The book is always better. I can't think of any exeption to this saying.
You say you grew up with Harry Potter, but if you haven't read the books, then you didn't. The books are probably more important than the movies and people that have truly grown up with them have read them and seen the movies.

Second, if you read the books, you would know that there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to put the Deathly Hallows into one movie. It may not seem like a lot of action, but then again, you didn't read the books. Every single thing that was in that movie had importance to it because everything in the book had importance to it. The director and producers even stated that the movie had to be put into two parts because there was absolutely nothing that could be left out. All the other movies, could have easily been split into two parts as well, but then again, a lot of stuff from the book was left out of the other movies.

The adventurous part is coming, but personally, because I'm such a huge Harry Potter fan, it doesn't need to be adventurous to be a good movie. And don't forget, there were some interesting parts to Part 1 (Hermione being tortured, Harry and Hermione battling Nagini, the intrusion at Bill and Fleur's wedding). The first part of the book and the first part of the movie are both incredibly important because they both ultimately lead up to the finale. But of course, you haven't read the books.

The split was NOT a waste of time. They did not take the whole movie to show Voldemort getting the wand from Dumbledore's grave, because, if you paid attention, you would realize that that was NOT what it was about. Sure, in the end, it became important, but their main goal was to find and destroy Horcruxes. And the Elder Wand was not a Horcrux.

I find it hard to believe that you are a true Harry Potter fan, because a true Harry Potter fan would understand all of this and this question would not exist at all.

Enjoy Part 2.I need people who have read and seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 to answer my question? Please?
It was a good decision to split. Those "quiet" moments you mention were the most compelling...really showed how the characters were growing and changing.

*LOL, if you haven't read the books, any opinion you have on whether the movie should have been split are invalid, because you have no idea what must be included. Read the books, then whine about it.
