Ok now I know most of you all will probably hate me for saying, but I didn't like Part 1 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I thought splitting the one movie into two was pointless. I really liked the very beginning, but when it got to the part where they were traveling and the scenes seemed to drag on and the lack of dialogue. I started to get sleepy and actually had to make myself stay awake to finish watching it. By the time it ended and I learned they spent the whole movie to show Voldemort taking the wand from Dumbledore's grave, needless to say. I got pissed.
Ok so my friend thinks the split in one movie was justified for reasons he hasn't told me yet.
I was wondering if you felt the same way, or if you liked the movie I'm glad. I don't want anyone to think I'm bashing the movie, I've been a fan of harry potter since I was little and have grown up with the movie series. No I haven't read the books, but don't think I have to just to know that the split was waste of time and just to milk the series for all its worth. This is my big problem with it. I hate when people take a good story and try to milk it for all its worth, because unless you truely love the story your filming niether will your audience.I need people who have seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 to answer my question? Please?
Well I have not read the books either but I'm glad they split it into two movies. I will agree with you that they definitely dragged out the excursion, but they did have some pretty sweet scenes that I enjoyed. They've also stated that while the first part was more of an adventure the second part will be more action oriented so I think you will probably enjoy the next movie better. I like the fact they split it into two movies primarily because throughout the entire Harry Potter series they have always left out very big things, this has allowed for more of the book to actually be in the movie.
I haven't read any of the books neither, nut i liked the movie. It wasn't as interesting as i thought it would be. My boyfriend hated it. I had his hope up and was very disappointed. I think he feel asleep also.I need people who have seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 to answer my question? Please?
It was done for money, sell 8 million movie tickets you make 80 million dollars, sell 8 million tickets to TWO movies, you make 160 million dollars... just like Twilight.
What it could have done with is a bit more editing down to about 125 minutes. I feel 2 films are necessary as (if the first one had been cut more and the second one is cut to 2 hours) the whole thing would be 4 hours, which is enough in my mind to cover everything. However, if it was just one film and not a 2 parter then you will either be looking at a long 4 hour film or a feeling that everything was rushed even if it came in at 3 hours, which would have disappointed fans of one of the most popular franchises in the world, which is a lot of weight on Warner Brothers' shouldersI need people who have seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 to answer my question? Please?
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan too. Some actually call me obsessive. When I was little, i didn't really follow Harry Potter, but when Part 1 came out, I actually said to myself, it was finally time to read the books. (Which I did.) I didn't really have a problem with the movie because I didn't know what was supposed to happen ( I didn't read the books yet.) My friend who read the books said that she was pissed because the movie ended right after Voldmort stole the wand. Many others said that the movie wasn't good also. What I don't like is how every movie cuts out a few of the first chapters of the book. Like in Deathly Hallows, they completely cut out the part at the Burrow where they are preparing for the Wedding. That's my only complaint, they don't show all the details, even with two movies.
First of all, you need to read the books! You cannot judge whether or not the split was justified if you haven't read the book that the movie was based on. Besides, once the last movie is out the "magic" of Harry Potter still lives on for you... if you read the books.
Voldemort stealing Dumbledore's wand is more important of an event then you might think... I was ecstatic that they chose to split the movie into two parts because it meant that the magical adventures of Harry Potter's world aren't really over yet! I know that when the movies end that the Wizard Rock fandom, theme park, and books will still exist... but I know that when the lat movie comes out, I am going to be very sad. All of that aside, my favorite character is going to die in the next movie and I am very happy that the movie ended where it did because one of the upcoming scenes is going to be the character's death scene. I needed the delay because during the last movie I wasn't emotionally ready for that.
I like all the Harry Potter movies but I totally agree with you! I thought the part where they were hiding out in the forest was dragged out and badly put together. It seemed like they had a tough time fitting all the important parts from the book into the movie and it turned out kind of weird.
I don't know about you, but I'm excited to see part 2! I think splitting it up made the suspense that much more. And if you saw the first one, you HAVE to see the second one or it won't make sense. It's a good finale. They just could have made it flow a little better, you know?
I still liked it, though. It just could have been better. Can't please everyone, I guess!
