I love one of my best mates and don't know what to do?

For the past two years I have been really close friends with a girl I know. She trusts me implicitly, and has shared details of her life with me that she wouldn't share with anyone. I had a major crush on her a while back, I told her and she said that she loved me. We agreed to just be friends. I was fine with that. I moved inane so did she. The other night she came home from Uni, and I asked if she wanted to go to a party with me. She said yes, but we left really early, I hadn't seen her for a few months. She was cold so I gave her my coat, and she suggested we go out for a meal. We did, and it was intimate, I took her home, but didn't make a move to kiss her at the doorstep, she wanted me to phone her all the way home, but I had run out of battery, she phoned to check I was home almost as soon as j got in. And we ended up texting until two in the morning. This one night out has rearoused feelings I have for her, and I don't know what to do... Was the evening just a close friends thing? Or was it more? And did I ruin my chances for not going in for a kiss at the doorstep?
