Am I the only one that thinks like this? Im in shock, all my friends just jump into bed with any old guy. Do people not believe sex is an act of love!!!!! ?One night stands?Sadly a lot of women think they have to do the dirty deed to keep a man. They don't see that men disrespect women who have sex straightaway, as they subconsciously believe that they must do it all the time with any old guy.

Not fair, shocking double standard, but thats the way it is and probably always will be. The girls who do this mistake sex for love then wonder why they are labelled slags.One night stands?
its gross.One night stands?because it feels good and people has become more hedonist ( looking for pleasure) and forgeting their values so these days sex has nothing to do with love

An act of love is where you sacrifice something for someone you love, sex isn't about sacrifice, or at least it never should be.
im a 37yr old female and i have never had a 1 night stand,i have had a handful of partners(who i have had lenghty relationships with).

Im now married after being with my husband for nearly 8 years.

Us women are not all the same but your right,there is no respect but hey,women fought for equal rights and if its ok for a man to bed a woman after knowing them for just a night then why cant a woman bed a man after knowing them for only a few hours.

I hear ya, I see this all the time if not see it on tv, I have loved my high school sweetheart since we first met and it has been love ever since,,, as someone posted it does feel good I dont blame them but it should be for the love and respect of the other person and not just to jump in bed and move on,, if that is the case then guys we should just use our hand lol

And, it can really start to seem that if you don't jump on the bandwagon and whore yourself out like your friends that you're never going to meet a guy.

So, maybe you shouldn't be taking advice from a single 34-year-old....

But, of course, I don't particularly want to get married and definitely not to some instant gratification guy who can't see past a 3-month time period and therefore would be a recipe for divorce.

What you need to try to do is meet more people like you. Not saying dump your friends, but branch out.

What are your interests? For example, dancing -- then going to clubs you'll find lots of one-nighters, but joining a dance group you might not, you'll find people serious about dance and energy and fun. Or joining a theatre group and being in a musical.

Places where you can meet other people with your interests where the focus isn't just sex like it can be at a club or school
its a fact that alcohol has a lot to do with a high percentage of one night stands i don't do them as a rule i met my girlfriend and she demanded respect before we had sex and its a better experience if you wait for it i think its more romantic for a start and you end up with the person you want to be with that way
I do, and I am nearly 18, am a virgin and have taken an oath to stay one till I am married. I even wear a chastity ring. To me sex is random, meanigless fun which will one day end up hurting you, physically, mentally or emotionally. But making love is a private, enjoyable act full of electrical vibes, ecstasy and pleasure, where you bring one anothers love in to the view of each other and should be between jsut two people...I would rather my guy respected me for what I think and who I am then wanted to get me into bed straight away! I have respect for my body, my mind and my life and will continue to have respect for any guy/gal that thinks the same. Its sad that everone feels such a pressure to have sex asap, but thats society for you. A hundred years ago you hadnt much of a choice,you would be practically disowned if you even thought of losing your virginity when you were single! But now (for kids as young as 13 or lower) its almost as though its as normal as climbing trees or playing with Barbie dolls. Sad, but true. There are so many complications with sex, wouldnt people be happier just to wait till they'v found The One? I think in many cases, yes. For all you virgins; DONT be ashamed of your lack of experience - rather enjoy the fact that you are one day going to have a guilt free, responsiblility free, love-proving experience which brings you together as a couple. NEVER give into peer pressure from friends/partner. Do what makes YOU happy. xxx
