Should I watch the Harry Potter movies?

I'm 13 right now, and with the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 coming out, I was wondering if the Harry Potter movies are worth watching (all of them, in order).

I've watched some of them before (first one, Goblet of Fire), but I haven't actually sat down and watched all of them in order before. I'm not sure if its worth it, but a lot of people I know (Harry Potter fanatics) are crazy about it and say that it's been a big part of their lives since they were a child, but the last time I watched it (9 or 10?) I was really scared at some parts and ducked under the my bed covers.

So, I guess my questions are:

1. Are the movies worth spending my summer time watching, one by one, in order?

2. Are the movies too scary for someone who couldn't sleep at night after watching Scary Movie 3? (I know, lame right? DX)

Thanks for everything, and feel free to add any personal opinions relating to the movies.Should I watch the Harry Potter movies?
I personally believe that the Harry Potter series is the best thing in the world. The books alone gave children an escape into a whole different world, including me. They gave children a reason to pick up a book.

As for the films, personally I am a fan of all of them and am very excited to sit down next week (closer to the midnight screening of Deathly Hallows Part Two) and watch all seven films in order with my best friends. The films are increadable and I suggest anyone who hasn't read them yet to read them...however, the movies are a very close second place to the books.

too long; didn't read:

watch the films. they are really, truly, fantastic.
Well, granted that I am about 11 years older than you, but my own personal opinion is that, yes, the movies are worth watching -- but they aren't the greatest. I read the books when I was a bit younger and found them to be significantly better than the movies.

Also, I didn't find the movies to be scary in the least.Should I watch the Harry Potter movies?
They aren`t scary. They really are great films for all ages. Well the first couple at least, the others definitely have a darker tone to them. Just watch one every couple of nights or break them up even more. It shouldn`t be too hard to find someone to borrow them to you, tons of people have them on dvd.
The movies are amazing. Definitely worth it. I'm re-watching them now because I haven't watched the older ones since i was young. I watched them grow, and it's very sad to watch it end. But seriously a mistake if you choose not to watch it.Should I watch the Harry Potter movies?
Watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ( HP-7 )on Megavideo Online or download it for a.later.
They aren't really scary at all. It may seem scary if you're younger and one of the more scared types of people. But if you sit down and actually watch the movie, you'll realize it isn't really scary at all, but an amazing journey filled with magic.

To me, and others around my age, we grew up watching Harry Potter. I was 11 when the first movie came out, so I could easily relate to Harry and it was the most bad *** adventure any movie had ever taken me on. At the time any ways. And I've watched all the movies on their opening day, I own all the books, and all the movies ( that are out so far).

It depends. Do you think you'd like it? If not, you may want to put it off til you think you'll enjoy it. But it probably wouldn't be to hard to watch a movie a day, since it's summer. Or even two a day.. There's no real reason to watch them all back-to-back in one go.
The Harry Potter movies aren't really scary - it's just that as we get further into the story, the plot gets darker. But the main focus is the excitement of the wizarding world. It's definitel worth it to watch the movies, and ESPACIALLY in order. The books were obviously much better because they always change movies, but for the most part the movies are exceptionally well done. Take the chance to watch them now, so that you can appreciate the last movie that much more.
