its been a while since i read or watched that part. and i am watching the deathly hallows part 1 when the ministry of magic goes to the weasleys to give harry hermoine and ron dumbledores will items.

one of them was the sword of gyffindor and supposedly he had used it in the chamber of secrets, but i dont remember that part

Dumbledore said earlier that, "You will find that help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it." In the Chamber of Secrets, Fawkes came with the Sorting Hat. Harry pulled the Sword of Gryffindor out of the hat and used it to kill the Baskilisk. Maybe read or reread the books. :)
he got it at the end when he was in the chamber of secrets itself, got it from the sorting hat that was brought down by the pheonix bird owned by the Hogwarts headmaster, Dumbledore. And killed the Basalisk. :)When did harry potter use the sword of gryffindor in chamber of secrets?

If you're 19 now, you actually would have been in 1st or second grade when when the book came out, since CoS came out in the US 12 years ago (1999) and you would have been 7. The movie came out 3 years later, so only 4th or 5th grade. So yeah, time really does fly!



He pulls the sword out of the Sorting Hat, delivered to him by Fawkes while in the Chamber of Secrets (at which point Riddle mocks Dumbledore for providing Harry with a useless bird and an old hat). Harry stabs the basilisk (after getting bitten) with the sword, which kills it and breaks off one of it's fangs. (he also gets bitten but is healed by Fawkes). He then uses the basilisk fang to stab the diary, destroying the piece of Voldie's soul that was in there, as (as we later find out) it was a horcrux.



The "stabbing the basilisk" part is how the sword is able to destroy other horcruxes... basilisk venom is one of the only things that can destroy horcruxes, and the sword absorbs the venom's ability because of it's unique properties thanks to being Goblin made.
